WASC ACCREDITATION

  • WHAT IS WASC?

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is the accrediting body for the western region of the United States.
Accreditation is the process for evaluating and assuring the quality of educational institutions and programs. WASC requires that we
demonstrate that we are taking real steps to fulfill our mission, are measuring the effectiveness of those steps, and are using
the results of those measures to improve what we do. WASC accreditation is a school improvement process and, therefore,
is a process that serves as the foundation for quality education. An accredited school is a statement to the broader community and
the stakeholders that it is a trustworthy institution for student learning and committed to ongoing improvement.

It is imperative that we hear from all stakeholders; teachers, students, parents, community members, support, and district staff, as
we set improvement goals through this reflective process. To achieve that goal, we have attached an electronic parent survey to
this newsletter. Please take the time to complete the survey and assist us in setting up plans to make RFKHS the best school possible.
