WORK PERMITS

California State law requires that all students under eighteen (18) years of age who are employed or wish to be employed have a work permit.  This work permit may obtained in the Attendance Office.  In order to obtain a work permit, the minor and his/her parent or guardian must provide the issuing authority with the minor's school record, evidence of age, and written statements from the prospective employer.

A student may not work and attend school for a combined total of more than eight (8) hours on any school day.  Students working too many hours a day or week and not having regular attendance can have their work permits voided by the site administrator in charge of attendance.  

A Request for Work Permit is attached in the Resource Box below.  Simply print out the form attached, complete the form and turn the request in with all necessary paperwork to the Attendance Office.
