In 2004, he was elected to the Delano Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees.  He is currently the Board President and is proud of the District's accomplishments, including the naming of Delano High School as one of the nation's best schools by U.S. News and World Report.

When not at home, “Arny” is a familiar sight on the streets of Delano in his little electric car on his way to a performance, to school, or to another one of his many volunteer activities.
